Teju Cole –
Blind Spot

„There are many resonances in that title – how difficult it is to see clearly, how difficult it is to tell a dream, how difficult it is to make pictures that are new in some way.“

Er lebt in Brooklyn, New York.

«Teju Cole – Blind Spot» (english version)
Blind spots are areas of obstruction that elude our consciousness and stand for what cannot be shown or seen. «Blind Spot» is also the name of the latest project by author and photographer Teju Cole.

At the center of «Blind Spot» is the poetic relationship between image and language: Cole brings texts and photographs together, relates them to one another and interlinks them so that the text becomes the blind spot of the image—and vice versa.

In his first exhibition in Switzerland Cole presents around 30 works.

Teju Cole (*1975) grew up in Nigeria and came to the USA as a teenager. He is the photography critic for «The New York Times Magazine», and the author of four books, including «Open City» and «Every Day is for the Thief», which are considered outstanding works of modern American literature. In 2014 he was «Writer in Residence» of the Literaturhaus Zurich and the PWG Foundation. Cole currently lives in Brooklyn, New York.
